Farm Life

Hey Ya'll from good ole Shabbana, IL!
I am currently staying with my grandparents for a while and enjoying myself at their beautiful farm. I grew up here when I was little and always loved coming out here and spending quality time with my grandparents. Their farm is big with lots of things with a pool, huge barns with 2 horses, golf carts, 4-wheelers and screened in wrap around porch where I spend most of my time. It is so peaceful out here and you really do appreciate everything in life.

I love taking pictures out here cause it is so different from in the city. I am sure my next few blog posts will be from here :)

Country Lovin'

I'M BACK!
Hey Ya'll o my goodness has it been a while and so glad to be back!  I have just been one busy girl the last few months and have missed all the blogging I use to do and hopefully will get into a good habit and start doing it a lot more often.
I am just loving life right now. The Good Lord has been so good to me these past few days and I've come to realize life is to short to not be happy. I am so blessed with a loving family and AMAZING friends and so excited what the man up stairs has in store for me.
I am proud to say I am following my dreams and becoming a Miss Fitness model and compete in competitions. I've been told I should have been doing this for years and never had the guts to just do it. So I quit my retail job and now focusing my time in the gym and going back to school for my personal training license. As much as I love fashion and clothes, sports has been a HUGE part in my life and I miss it. My long term goal is to become a track coach somewhere. I have been blessed with amazing coaches and trainers that have taught me everything I need to know about track and now its my turn to do it for some future athletes who will come my way. Its funny how one little thing can happen in your life and make ya realize whats important. I believe this is what I was meant to do and so ready to start this amazing journey that the Lord has set for me.

So ya'll watch out! I will be bringing my Miss Fitness Journey to the SouthMeetsCity blog to show ya'll that anyone can follow there dreams if you put all your heart into something!
BLESSINGS!

You Can Never Go Wrong With Floral

I am in LOVE with this floral print Kensie dress. I had my eye on this dress for the longest time and when we finally got in the store last December I was thrilled! It is such a great piece and the colors are so different from any other floral print dress. It also has pockets!!! What girl doesn't love a dress with pockets? I love shoulder dresses and this is probably on of my favorite ones that I own.
I really do miss working for Kensie. I've been told that, "I have ever girls dream closet". What can I say? I love shopping! Back in August when I first started at Kensie I owned 6 dresses. Today I own 57 and almost all of them are Kensie. Yes, pretty ridiculous I know!

Spring Attire

Striped Top: Kenneth Cole//Mustard Scarf: Target//Black Shorts, Flower Purse, Black Wedges:Kensie

Well Spring has finally made it to Chicago, Illinois and I am just in awe. For the past week our weather has been in the 70's which is not normal for us in March. I was so excited to bust out my awesome Kensie black shorts. They are so fun and so glad I purchased them. These shorts you can actually wear all year round. In the cooler weather you can add fun tights and totally dress up the look.
I also added a mustard scarf to sorta "Pop" my outfit. I was never a fan of this color and for some reason I'm in love with it now. I just purchased a pair of mustard denim 2 days ago and cannot wait to show ya'll! Bright colors seem to be the new trend so I am totally taking advantage of it. Hope everyone had a fantastic week!!!

Fun Aqua Denim

Hey Ya'll! Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday as I am. My brother is home from Spring break and I am loving every minute of it. He attends a college down in Indiana which is a good 5 hours away so I don't get to see him as much due to work and other things I got going on back home. So its always nice having all the Coopers under one house.
Today's weather is GORGEOUS. I just don't understand Illinois weather sometimes. One day we get 3 inches of snow with ice and bitter coldness, and then we get days like today, which is in the high 60's and the sun is shinning. Can I say crazy?!?! I would take this weather everyday if I could. So I am enjoying this beautiful day by taking some blog pictures for ya'll.

Blouse, Aqua Pants, Cream Pumps: Kenneth Cole// Necklace and Earings: Aldo

As you can see the past 2 posts have been about color denim. Can someone say obsessed?!?! I just got these last week and I think they are probably the most fun pants I have ever owned. I am dying to get my hands on some pink or lime green ones. The coolest part about them is that you can roll them up to a capris which would be perfect for the summertime.

My last post I had my red denim pants with just a basic flat and so I decided to add a fun pump with these aqua pants for this post. I just purchased these pumps last week and let me tell you they are HOT! I've sold a bunch of them at my store and think they are so fun but so classy at the same time.

Red Hot Denim

Hey Ya'll!
Its been a while since my last post and I apologize as I am in transition of a new job that has taken up most of my time. But I am so excited to share with you one of my latest purchases, red denim jeans. Color jeans are back ya'll and they are being sold everywhere. I never was a total fan of them until my new job had them and I just couldn't resist trying them on and seeing if they would do anything for me. Obviously, they did and I have gotten so many compliments on them. Its a casual, but sexy look. They come in all sorts of colors and now I'm just debating on what other colors I want.

Today I just wore a basic black flat for just a casual look. To spice up these pants even more I would throw on a black pump instead of a flat. The heels will make your legs look thin and long in these pants. It would make a great outfit to go out on the town in.

Lets Hang Out And Make Pretty

Hey Ya'll! Hope everyone is having an AMAZING week so far! Today I am enjoying myself in this amazing weather. For some reason this past week it has felt like fall in good ole Illinois. I have been enjoying my time outside playing with my dogs and taking in this somewhat warmer weather before it gets cold again.

This has to be one of my favorite outfits that I recently bought from Kensie. For the longest time I saw it on the hanger but it never did anything for me. Its like that good ole saying, "Never judge a book by its cover", but in fashion world its,"You cant judge a dress on a hanger".   Its a very flattering dress and love the colors of the different flowers. I added a matching cardigan and felt like it just completed the outfit.

These are my all time favorite boots that I got for my birthday this past December. I try to wear them whenever I can, with jeggings, dresses, it don't matter. My best friend Brandon calls them my "Pirate Boots" which I have to admit now they sorta do look like them, but I don't care. They are AMAZING boots and recommend them to anybody.
My good ole friend Britt (http://www.thatshopgirl.com/) actually had them before I did and I was so jealous seeing her wear them all the time so I had to get them. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Who Knew Dresses Could Be Comfy

Hey Ya'll!
I just have a small post today but wanted to share with you one of the most comfortable dresses I own. This was a total hit in my store when we first got it in. Its a one of a kind dress that you wouldn't be able to find at any store. Last fall I purchased the same type of dress but it was short sleeved and in a caramel color(which you will probably see in my later posts). This adorable dress has HUGE pockets to give it that baggy affect. Usually I will belt it to give it more of a flare look, but decided to just wear a scarf around my neck instead to get a more comfy look.

This dress could be warn anywhere for any occasion. I just slipped on a basic legging with some grey boots and got so many compliments.

GaGa Blue

I have been in completly in love with this blue retro zipper dress for months at my store Kensie. I kept asking myself for months, "do I really need this", which is a common question that I ask myself and I end up falling into the temptation, "YES I NEED THIS".  So I finally gave in and purchased it last week and was thrilled.  I call it the GaGa dress simply because I think it is something Lady GaGa would wear.It is one of the most fiercest dresses I have ever seen and I just couldn't resist.

These wedges were the deal breaker on the purchase of this dress. I am not a huge fan of the color blue,  but these wedges were made for this dress. I actually sold this outfit to a few customers for New Years Eve and fell in love with this outfit all over again. They are also very comfortable for being such a high heel.

And I would like to introduce ya'll to my amazing friend Britt (http://www.thatshopgirl.com/). Britt and I have become GREAT friends after working together at Kensie. She has been an amazing friend, and was the one who inspired me to start "South Meets City". I have never in my life met someone with such an amazing talent and passion for fashion.
If we aren't working, we are usually out on the town doing what we do best, dancing. So ya'll check out her fashion blog which is linked on the side of my page under Sister blog.

Hello Blogging World

Hey Ya'll! My name is Chelsea and currently a new member in the blogging world. Thanks to one of my dearest friends Britt (aka www.thatshopgirl.com),  she finally convinced me to have my own fashion blog, so here I am blogging away.
I chose the title "South Meets City" because it truly defines my life the past couple of years. I was born and raised in the great city of Chicago, Illinois and ended up going to college down south in the state of Alabama (ROLL TIDE ROLL) on a track and field scholarship. I was down in Jacksonville, Alabama for almost 3 years and it  truly changed my life. I was in a total culture shock and loved seeing how southern people lived there everyday lives.  I would go out with friends in a dress with heels and they would all be in flannels with cowboy boots. In my mind, that was not something you would see up north, and that's where I got my nickname, "Miss Illinois, the Yankee". From being made fun of my northern accent to how I was always dressed up I truly made a strong statement of my personal style wherever I went.

I am OBSESSED with boots! They go great with any dress or any kind of legging. Its very rare in the colder weather to not see me in boots.
Boots: Candies from Kohls

I love wearing this black dress. Black is such a slimming color and I love throwing in whatever colors I want to and make a new outfit every time I wear the same dress.Whether its a scarf, jewelry, or a fun belt you can always have a new outfit

I am very excited about this blog and can't wait to show everyone my ideas about fashion and fitness which are two important things in my everyday life. So here it is ya'll "South Meets City"
